ORNAGH

EXTENDED REALITY ARTIST

Exploring The Space Between The Digital And Physical Worlds

ORNAGH IS A SELF-TAUGHT, IRISH-BORN ARTIST, WHO BEGAN DEVELOPING CREATIVE WORK ON MOVING TO LONDON IN 2009. SHE HAS ACQUIRED RECOGNITION FOR HER BOLD, UNAPOLOGETIC WORKS ON THEMES OF CONSCIOUSNESS, ADDICTION, AND MENTAL HEALTH.

In 2016 she founded The Nave Art Collective, with a mission of using art as a vehicle for social change. Since discovering XR (extended reality) in 2021, Ornagh has been exploring a variety of cutting-edge mediums, including 3D scanning, virtual reality installation building, and motion capture performance, to create psychedelic, surrealist environments inhabited by playful, yet somehow disturbing, characters. In January 2023, she embarked on a UK tour with her VR (virtual reality) creation ‘Ode to Him,’ exhibiting in galleries and delivering lectures at notable locations like The Towner Gallery and Canterbury Christ Church University. Today, Ornagh’s creative practice embraces disparate influences made up of 3D-created and real-world elements. Drag-inspired looks, scrapbooking, video art and VR assets are combined and layered to craft immersive, thought-provoking XR experiences to explore the question of what it means to be free.
